Juninus E. "Eddie" Spearman

WOONSOCKET - Juninus E. "Eddie" Spearman, 84, formerly of Privilege St. died Tuesday, March 20, 2018, in the Oakland Grove Health Care Center, with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Willie B. (Favors) Spearman.
Born in Newberry, South Carolina, son of the late Herbert and Henrietta (Spearman) Johnson.
He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.
Eddie worked as a Meat Cutter at Star Market for 21 years prior to retiring. He also worked for the Whitinsville Machinery in Massachusetts and was the first black employee at the Broaster House.
He was a member of St. James Baptist Church and was one of the first organizers of the Finance Department of the Church. He also was one of the founding members of the Tyra Club. A member of the Masonic Temple for 50 plus years and obtained many degrees. He was also a member of the Shriners.
Survived by one sister, Henrietta Dandy of Cranston, RI, one brother, G. Calvin "Turk" Gregory of New Jersey. Four Godchildren, Ralph "Poochie" Gibbs Jr., Stacy Nelson Thomas, Somers Wilson and Dwayne Harmon, nieces and caregiver, Carol Wilson Allen and Sheila Turner and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at 11 AM in St. James Baptist Church, 340 South Main St Woonsocket, RI. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, North Smithfield. Relatives and friends are invited! Visitation is from 10:00 - 11:00 AM prior to the service. The S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd.
