Lloyd Darling Obituary
WOONSOCKET - Lloyd John Darling, affectionately known as John, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on December 23, 2023, in Providence, RI. He was gentle in nature, intelligent, and a unique sense of humor.
John served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Later John followed his lifelong passion and love for music where he attended Berklee School of Music. His talents and dedication were evident to everyone who had the pleasure of hearing him play.
John's legacy is carried on by his loving family, including his daughter Jennifer Darling, her significant other Jeffrey Roberts, his cherished grandchildren Aiden John Belcastro Darling and Parker John Roberts of Tiverton, RI.
He was a beloved brother to Beverly Strojny of Dennis and Dorothea "Dottie" Sullivan of Falmouth, MA, and "Brother" Greg Abate of Coventry, RI. His life was further enriched by several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember Uncle John.
He lived his life with a gentle spirit, always ready with a joke or a thoughtful reflection, his absence will be deeply felt by all.
A memorial service will be held on May 3rd at 1:45pm at the Massachusetts National Cemetery with a celebration of life to follow.
In lieu of flowers Lloyd's family asks memorial donations in his memory be made to Operation Stand Down Rhode Island at www.osdri.org or the National Alliance on Mental Illness at www.namirhodeisland.org.
