Louis H. Gauthier

1938 - 2018

BLACKSTONE - Louis H. Gauthier, 79, of Blackstone, MA passed away peacefully at UMass Memorial Medical Center on Monday, May 7, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He is the beloved husband of Madeline K. (Della Fava) Gauthier, they would have been married for 57 years in June. Born in Woonsocket, RI on September 8, 1938 the son of the late Lionel and Lea (Breault) Gauthier. He is the loving father of Michael A. Gauthier and his wife, Judith of Oxford, MA, Scott C. Gauthier and his wife, Patricia of Blackstone, MA, and Matthew J. Gauthier and his wife, Stacey of Oxford, MA. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Robert, Katherine, Jenna, Andrew and great-grandsons Anthony, Benjamin, and Gabriel. He is the brother of Claudette Boucher and her husband, Arthur of Uxbridge, MA and the late Rene Gauthier, and many nieces and nephews.
A resident of Blackstone for 50 years formerly of Woonsocket, he worked at Whitins Machine, Tupco in Auburn, MA for 13 years, Husky in Auburn, MA for 12 years and Ivanhoe in Putnam, CT until retiring. After retiring he worked as grounds keeper at Slatersville Cemetery and Mundy's Flower Shop.
Louis grew up playing Little League Baseball and loved sports and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He enjoyed traveling. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, Louis will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, May 12th at 7:30AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30AM at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, MA. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone.
Visiting hours are on Friday, May 11th from 5PM to 8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Louis H. Gauthier to Milford Hospital or Dana-Farber Cancer Center, 14 Prospect St., Milford, MA 01757 would be appreciated.
