Lucienne B. Maranda

BLACKSTONE - Lucienne B. (Harpin) Maranda, 91, of Blackstone, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018, at the Lydia Taft House, Uxbridge, with loving family by her side.

She is the beloved wife of the late Charles G. Maranda. Born in Woonsocket on July 28, 1927, the daughter of the late Narcisse and Eva (Dusseault) Harpin, she is the loving mother of Suzanne C. Maranda of Warwick; Paulette A. Gagnon and her husband, Daniel, of Blackstone; and Lee R. Maranda and his wife, Donna, of Blackstone.

She leaves her cherished five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is the sister of Yvette Gervais of Manville; Leo Harpin of Woonsocket; Aline Allard of North Smithfield; Oscar Harpin of Woonsocket; Jeanne Cote of Woonsocket; Claire Marcotte of Harrisville; and the late Raymond Harpin, Andre Harpin, Laurent Harpin and Ernest Harpin. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

A resident of Blackstone for several years, formerly of Ocala, Florida and Woonsocket, she worked for many local area mills. Mrs. Maranda was a volunteer delivering for Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Blackstone Senior Center.
She loved to garden and had a green thumb. In her later years she loved making puzzles and playing cards. Devoted to her family, she will be greatly missed.

Funeral will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 9:30 a.m., from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 South Main St. (Route 126), Bellingham, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Woonsocket. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.

Visiting hours are on Monday, Nov. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Lucienne B. Maranda may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 209 West Central St., Suite 220, Natick, MA 01760 or www.kidney.org/donate.
