Maria L. Agrela

CUMBERLAND - AGRELA, Maria L., 89, of South Attleboro, MA passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, Providence. She was the wife of the late Manuel De Agrela.

Born in Madeira, Portugal, she was the daughter of Mauricio and Mauricia Rodrigues. She moved to this country in 1966, where she raised her family. She leaves her two sons, John Agrela and his wife Linda of South Attleboro, and Luis "Ronnie" Agrela and his wife Ilda of Lincoln; her daughter, Solange Martins and her husband Manny of Cumberland; her siblings, Aldora Rodrigues of Brazil and Jose Antonio Rodrigues of Madeira, Portugal; her seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Rui "Roy" Agrela and sister of the late Aldora Ribeiro, Mauricio Rodrigues, Alvaro Rodrigues, Felismina Gomes, and Joaquim Rodrigues.

Mrs. Agrela was employed as a factory worker for American Tourister and Filipe Braid Inc for many years.

Maria enjoyed writing songs, embroidery, cooking and watching sports. Those who love her will always remember her dedication and love for her family.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Maria's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 9:45 AM to 11:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 NOON in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association of RI, 245 Waterman St. #306, Providence, RI 02906.
