Maria Sales

CUMBERLAND - Maria (Lemos) Sales, 82, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday at the Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of Jack Sales.
Born in Terceira, Acores,
Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Jacinto Martins Lemos and Virginia Augusta Pereira Lemos. She moved to this country in 1975, settling in New Bedford, later moving to Cumberland.
Mrs. Sales was employed as Machine Operator for the CCL Manufacturing for many years. She was previously employed by the Hasbro Inc. for many years.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church. She was a woman of great catholic faith who loved to spend time with her family.
Besides her husband she leaves, her children, Joaquim Sales of Mexico, Helen Garcia of North Kingstown, Fernando Sales and his wife Fatima of Cumberland, Carlos Sales and his wife Kimberly of Washington, Alvaro Sales and his wife Stephanie of New Jersey, and Fatima Moura and her husband Licinio of Manville; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Sales; fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Larry L. Sales.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday at 8 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at St, Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visting Hours will be held Wednesday from 4-7 PM.
