Martha Ann Lennon

PAWTUCKET - Lennon, Martha Ann, 82 of Pawtucket passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. Martha was the daughter of the late Philip R. Lennon, Sr and Mary C. (McKenna) Lennon. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Philip R. Lennon, Jr. and Leo H. Lennon.
She graduated from RI College of Education in 1954 and then received a master's degree from Northeastern University. She taught first grade for 35 years in the Pawtucket School System, retiring in June of 1998. During her career Martha took a leave of absence for 2 years and taught in France for the Dept. of the Army Dependent Schools. She traveled through much of Europe, the US and the Caribbean during her free time. After retirement Martha enjoyed spending time with family and friends and taking care of her great nieces and nephews.
She will be dearly missed by her surviving sister Marie Conlon, her nieces and nephew (and their spouses) Deborah Lennon, Mary Jane Lennon, Rebecca Lennon, Martha Lennon Shults (Richard), Rachel Lennon McMorrow (John), Susan Conlon, Timothy Conlon (Suzanne), 7 great nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.
The family thanks Martha's cousin, Angela (Casey) Reilly for the special attention and loving care that she provided her with over the past few years. And, the family expresses their gratitude to the entire staff at Philip Hulitar for their professional and gentle care of Martha during her stay there.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10am in St. Theresa's Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
