My old friend "Michael-Not-Brian" was never short of stories. His picture still hangs where he worked. I called him Brian for a long time before he corrected me. Told me it was a good Irish name but that it was time I knew the truth. He is missed.

So sorry to lose such a good man. At Brown University he was liked and admired by many. Sitting in his chair right now pouring through the memories. My nickname for him was Michaelnotbrian. I had been calling him Brian for quite some time before he corrected me. He said that he did not mind, as Brian was a good Irish name. Wish I had heard sooner so as to pay my respects. God's speed, Brian.

Mike was a good friend. He worked for security at Brown and was known for his strong work ethic. It was rare for him to miss work out sick. He was in the prossess of beating prostate cancer and was waiting any day to hear that it was in remission. I would stop by every morning to say hi and catchup on the latest. He was the kind of guy that I could share my craziest ideas with. And that's a rare trait. Talks ranged from stocks to Chinese Magicans to UFO's. Arguments ranged from Stocks to Chinese Magicans to UFO's! No Mike, MAGIC is not REAL! He loved his daughters and was always talking about them.Yes we had kind of a funny friendship at work but I always looked forward to stopping by and telling him what was going on. He helped me with advise on everthing. I didn't see him when school was out but I looked forward to the new year after the summer to see him. I guess one thing we should learn from this is to try to pay more attention to what is important to us. I am honored to have been his friend.Mike will always be with me.
