Nancy Carroll

WOONSOCKET - Nancy Carroll, 69, of Woonsocket, RI died peacefully April 17th in Rhode Island Hospital after a brief illness. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.
Nancy lived a full and beautiful life. She overcame her disabilities. She had so many friends. She loved, and was loved. No amount of words can express the joy of her life. She touched so many hearts and will be missed.
One of Nancy's amazing gifts was her memory. She would make the best Trivia Pursuit partner in the TV category. She could remember so much detail. It was especially remarkable considering her developmental disability.
Nancy was a pioneer in the development of the Group Home concept in Northern Rhode Island. Nancy and her roommates proudly owned their own home. With the support of the Seven Hills Foundation and predecessor organizations, Nancy enjoyed the blessings and comforts of a home life. Her support staff and roommates were her extended family. She loved them so.
Nancy is survived by her brother Peter Carroll, brother-in-law Thomas F. Foley and his wife Mary, and her nephew Thomas C. Foley and his wife Maggie. Nancy was preceded by her father and mother Francis and Lucille Carroll and her sister Susan Carroll Foley.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road Cumberland. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Blackstone, MA.
