Normand Gosselin Obituary

BELLINGHAM - Normand G. Gosselin, 74, long time resident of Bellingham MA, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA with family by his side. Born in Woonsocket, RI on November 2, 1947, the son of the late Gerald and Doris (Bourdon) Gosselin.

He is the beloved husband of Susan Carlson. He is the loving father of Normand G. Gosselin Jr. and fiancée Maryann Lapio of Bellingham, MA, and Steven S. Gosselin and companion Tracy Caroll of Millville, MA. He leaves his cherished grandsons Nicholas and Anthony. He is the brother of Jeanne Costa of Warwick, RI, Susan Gosselin of Canada, Michael Gosselin of Sarasota, FL and Louise Gosselin of Sarasota, FL, and nieces and nephews.

Normand was raised in Cumberland RI where he forged lifetime friendships and graduated Cumberland High School Class of 1966. Normand moved to Bellingham in 1975 to raise his sons. Normand worked as a painter at Electric boat Quonset Point, RI for 30 years until his retirement in 2003. Upon retirement Normand and Susan Moved to Sarasota, Fl. Where they spent 17 beautiful years in the Camelot East community. Normand and Susan drove around the country in their RV where the trips would always end in a welcome driveway of a family member.

He was United States Army Vietnam War Veteran attaining the rank of SP4 and received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

Normand loved fishing, the beach, boating, snorkeling with his grandsons and was a champion bocce player, and enjoyed watching golf. He also had a passion for Corvettes, you would sometimes see him pulling his fishing boat behind his red vette in Sarasota. He was a devoted New England Patriots fan. He passionately followed the weather and was affectionately known as "The Weatherman". Normand had a great love of life, family and his friends. Spending time with his family was one of his greatest joys. Normand will be greatly missed.

Arrangements are private under the direction of Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St., Bellingham.
