WOONSOCKET - Parmelia A. (Champagne) Pare, 81, of Woonsocket passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Trinity Health Center. She is the beloved wife for 62 years of Albert E. Pare. Born in Woonsocket on January 28, 1936, she is the daughter of the late Hector and Daisy (Houle) Champagne.
She is the loving mother of Albert E. Pare, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Harrisville, RI and Marc N. Pare and his wife, Sharon of Bellingham, MA. She leaves her cherished grandchildren Zachary, Travis, Jonathan, Scott and Jamie, and her late great-grandson Connor Pare. She is the sister of Armand Champagne of Pascoag, RI, Robert Champagne of Woonsocket, RI, Ida Hoyt of North Smithfield, RI, Pearl Gonzalves of North Smithfield, RI, Simone Daniel of Meridian, MS, and the late Leon Champagne, Maguerite Dubois, Madeliane Lambert, and nieces and nephews.
She was a longtime resident of Woonsocket and also resided in Palm Coast, FL for several years. She worked as a nurses aide for many years at the Woonsocket Health Center and previously worked at Univus Eye Frames in Attleboro, MA.
She was an avid pitch player, loved playing cards and trips to the casinos. Together with her husband they enjoyed vacationing and cruises. She loved her cherished poodle Chou-chou. Devoted to her family, she will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 1st at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St., Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at All Saints Church, 323 Rathbun St., Woonsocket, RI. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, February 28th from 5PM to 8PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
