Patricia Gaudreau Obituary

Patricia A. (Viscione)

Gaudreau

WOONSOCKET - Patricia A. (Viscione) Gaudreau, 78, formerly of Woonsocket and recently of Cumberland, died June 5, 2025 at The Holiday Retirement and Nursing Home in Manville. She was the wife of the late Albert E. Gaudreau and the daughter of the late Louis and Elisabetta Viscione.

Patricia was the mother of Amanda Fitzgerald and Kevin, and the late Peter Gaudreau and Christy. Her grandchildren Aiden, Dylan, and Alice Fitzgerald, and Owen Gaudreau affectionately called her Nonna. She additionally leaves her DeMichele family: Goody, Tony, Adam, and Andrea. While she had no siblings, she had very special devoted "sisters": Elizabeth, Paula, and Susan. She looked forward to her Sunday visits with Karen. Pat most recently shared a very special bond with her roommate, Norma.

Mrs. Gaudreau worked as a kindergarten teacher in the Woonsocket School system for most of her career. She finished her career as a technology teacher, for which she received an award from the Rhode Island Institute for Technology. She was proud to have led Peter's Cub Scout den, during which she famously caught a trout with her bare hands. Later, she lived with Amanda, Kevin and her grandkids. We will never forget the love, laughter, and laundry that flowed during those years.

After Patricia's retirement, she spent her time with loved ones. She cared for her grandchildren, niece, and nephew. Cruising with friends and family was her favorite way to travel. She looked forward to time with her "Cousin Crew" and especially loved the cousin breakfasts. Pat had fun challenging lady luck at the casino or playing bingo - only to share the winnings with her grandkids. Her grandchildren were her true pride and joy. She cheered on Aiden and Dylan at their sports and always stayed on top of them to make sure they did well in school. She also loved talking and crafting with Alice and reading, playing games, and joking with Owen. Her cats made her smile. Pat will be remembered as a thoughtful, honest, and generous woman.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 10 AM at St. James Church, 33 Division St., Manville. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Monday, June 9 from 5-7 PM at Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Bright, cheerful clothing is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to 'The Holiday Sunshine Fund' at 30 Sayles Hill Road Manville, RI 02838 (an emergency fund for employees in need). Another way to celebrate the wonderful life of Patricia is to purchase a lottery scratcher and donate your winnings to a charity of your choice (or give them to your grandkids).

I was so sorry to learn of Pat's death. I taught and worked with Pat many years in Woonsocket. Pat was a great kindergarten teacher. May she live on in her beloved daughter and grandchildren while she rests in Heaven with her deceased husband and son. With all my sympathy, Carolyn Rabidoux

Dear Amanda and family,
My deepest sympathy on the passing of your dear mother. I worked many years with her at Citizen´s Memorial School. Your parents were kind and thoughtful people. I had foot surgery recently so can´t attend the services unfortunately, but you will be in thoughts & prayers.
