Ray Edington Obituary

WOONSOCKET - Ray N. Edington, 73, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully Friday, May 13, 2016 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket surrounded by his wife, family and friends. He was the beloved husband of Karen (Bousquet) Edington.
Born in Cleveland Heights, OH, a son of the late Ancel O. and Rachel (Valyo) Edington, he had lived in Woonsocket for the past 14 years.

Ray was a lineman for the former Blackstone Valley Electric Company for over 15 years before he became disabled.
He was a Seabee in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Mount Moriah Lodge #8, F. & A.M., Lincoln.
He loved traveling, camping, sports, and to build. He especially loved all the friends he met on his journey.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Howard Edington of Pawtucket; two grandchildren, Jason and Jamie Gabriel; and four great grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Jennifer M. Gabriel.
His funeral service, followed by military honors, will be held Saturday, May 21 at 12 Noon at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. His burial will be private.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday from 10:30 A.M. - !2 Noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ray's memory to Fisher House Boston, 1400 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA 02132 would be appreciated. For Directions and Guest Book, please visit

Losing a loved one, especially someone as close as a loving husband, has got to be one of the hardest things to endure in this life. I wish there were words to console you.

Although I will not be able to attend Saturday's service, know that you are, and will be, in my thoughts and prayers.
