Rena Richards Obituary

WOONSOCKET - Rena M. Richards 98, formerly of 429 East School St., died August 8, 2018 at Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Centre. She was the wife of the late Lionel J. Richards. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Aime and Nelida (Lamarque) Gros Louis. Mrs. Richards worked as a clerk for the former Grants Department Store and Rathbun Oulet for many years. She loved to crochet and knit and throughout her life made and donated numerous hats, mittens, and scarfs for needy children.
Rena is survived by her sons, Gerald A. Richards and his wife Estelle, and David V. Richards and his wife Helene all of Woonsocket, two sisters, Loretta Aveni of Milford, NH and Irene Smith of Wilton, NH, and two granddaughters, Colette Whitby and her husband Robert and Christine M. Richards. She was predeceased by her siblings Albert Gros Louis, Marion Delisle and her twin sister Rita Jarest.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Theresa's Church, Rathbun St. Blackstone. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland. Visiting hours are Monday 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Boulevard, East Providence, RI 02914 in her memory would be appreciated.
