Rita Freberg Obituary

MARYVILLE, TN - Rita Annette Blaney Freberg, 90, of Maryville, passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2018. Formerly of Seekonk, Massachusetts, Rita and her husband Carl, moved to Maryville in 2005. She was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church in Seekonk and in 2005, she and Carl transferred their membership to First Baptist Church of Maryville. In addition to being a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rita was passionate about her work in the community and church. Some of her favorite volunteer activities outside of church were with the Multiple Sclerosis Group of Seekonk and the local chapter of the White Cross. Rita and Carl also enjoyed providing visits and comfort to elderly who had limited or no visits from friends or family in their nursing home. The two shared a love like no other and flourished together in ministry and mission work. Their bond and love for one another was built on faith and was and will be everlasting.
Rita is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Carl L. Freberg who died at 100 years old earlier this year. She is survived by her daughters Susan McRell and Lynne (Randy) Hurst and Granddaughters Kara (Phillip) Wilbourn, Marnie (Matt) Doyle, Katy McRell, Summer (Chip) Webb, and Alyssa Milligan. Great-Grandchildren, Kori and Kali, Caitlin and Emily, Jacob, Cooper and Kendall, Lilly and Kayley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church Maryville Local Missions or Blount County Animal Center.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 1st at Magnolia Cemetery at 11:00AM. Arrangements by Cremation By Grandview, 865-738-0244,
