Rita M. Marcotte

BLACKSTONE - Rita M. (Landry) Marcotte, 98, of Blackstone, MA died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Beaumont Nursing Home, Northbridge, MA. She was the wife of the late Alcide "Pete" Marcotte, whom she married November 25, 1948.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Waldo V. and Delia (Paul) Landry.
Rita was a buyer for McCarthy's Department Store for 11 years, retiring in 1948. She had also worked for the former Woonsocket Hospital as a receptionist and switchboard operator for 25 years, retiring in 1989, and had previously worked at TW Grants. Rita was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church, Blackstone, MA.
She leaves two sons, Kenneth E. and Dennis N. Marcotte, both of Blackstone; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, Waldo, Aram and Gerald Landry, and her sister, Rachel Landry.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2015 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Theresa's Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, MA. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket.
