Robert R. Girard

WOONSOCKET - Robert R. Girard 95, died December 27, 2016 at St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield. He was the husband of the late Francoise R. (Forest) Girard to whom he was married for sixty four years. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Alderic and Emelia (Fredette) Girard. Mr. Girard was the owner and operator of the former Bob's Fountain for fifteen years. He also was a member of the Greater Woonsocket Board of Realtors, having served as an officer in various capacities.
He is survived by four sons Robert and his wife Deirdre of Uxbridge, Guy and his wife Paulette of North Smithfield, Claude of Florence, SC and Arthur and his wife Myriam of Vineland, NJ his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arthur and Lucille Forest of Woonsocket, sisters-in-law, Pauline Levesque of North Smithfield, and Pauline Forest of Uxbridge, five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Cecile Fontenault, Rena Breault, Eugene Girard, Theodore Girard, Aurore Fontaine, and Doris Mandeville.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, Church St. in Slatersville. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-7 PM. Burial at a later date will be private.
