Robert J. Godin

1932 - 2021

NORTH SMITHFIELD - Robert J. Godin 88 of St. Paul St. passed away on January 25, 2021 at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Yvette (Gervais) Godin who passed on January 17, 2021. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Omer and Dorilda (Dupre) Godin. He was a US Army Reserve Veteran. Bob was a grinder machinist with Form Centerless Grinding for twenty-one years retiring in 1994. He was also a foreman at the former American Plating Co. for many years. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Sun City, AZ for fifteen years before returning to RI and making their home at Deerfield Commons in North Smithfield. Bob enjoyed spending time on his computer and was also a freelance photographer in the 50s, 60s and 70s working in MA, RI, and CT. He loved golf, bowling, photography, and travel, and especially enjoyed Cape Cod and coastal Maine.

Bob is survived by his daughter Denise Vinton and her husband Byron of Medway, MA, two sisters: Helen Harisenko of North Smithfield, and Eva Ferri of Manville, five grandchildren: Garret, Brent, Amy, Jason, and Korrie, and four great-grandchildren: Thomas, William, Matthew and Molly, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Dennis Godin.

A committal service will be held at St Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham at a later date and will be private due to COVID-19 restrictions. Please visit: www.fournierandfournier.com for condolences.
