Robert P. Lemoine

LARGO, FL - Robert Paul Lemoine, 80, died on March 11, 2017 at his home in Largo, Florida surrounded by his devoted family and friends. Robert was born in Woonsocket to the late Mrs. Alberta (Pelissier) and Pierre Lemoine and lived in the greater Woonsocket area for most of his life. Robert moved to Maine and then ultimately resided in Largo, Florida for the last ten years.
He served honorably for the US Air Force from 1953-1957 and then was a 37 year employee and supervisor for defense contractor, Northrop Grumman Corporation. Robert enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and being in the serenity of the outdoors. He was an active member of many civic and fraternal organizations including; American Legion of Largo, FL., AmVets of Clearwater, FL., Army and Navy Union USA, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Woonsocket Lodge 850, Italian Workingmen's Club of Woonsocket, RI. and Veterans of Foreign Wars of Bellingham, MA.
Robert leaves behind his companion of 33 years, Mary Lapointe, (formerly of Woonsocket, RI.) also of Largo, Florida. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Squires and husband Peter of Port St. Lucie, Florida, his sons; Bruce Lemoine of Port St. Lucie, Florida, John Lemoine and wife Suzanne of Toney, Alabama, Michael Lemoine and wife Deirdre of Pascoag, RI. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren including Matthew, Samantha, Ashli, Steven, Ethan, Lea, Connor, Mackenzie, Nicholas, Nathan, Noah, and three step-grandchildren, Peter Jr., Andrew and Stephen. He also leaves behind two great grandchildren. Robert is survived by one sister; Lucille (Lemoine) Milette and her husband Andre of Sun City, California. He is predeceased by four brothers; Paul, Jacques, Fernand, and Roger and three sisters; Mrs. Pauline Pucciarelli, Mrs. Estelle Corriveau, and Mrs. Jacqueline Pontbriand.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held this Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church located at 3357 Mendon Rd. Cumberland, RI. Burial with military honors will be at Resurrection Cemetery, 259 West Wrentham Rd. Cumberland, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the American Lung Association 260 W. Exchange St. #102B, Providence, RI. 02903.
