Robert Mandeville Obituary

NORTH SMITHFIELD - Robert L. Mandeville, 89, of East Old Greenville Road, North Smithfield, died Sunday at his home. He was the husband of the late Simone (Dugas) Mandeville and the late Yvonne (Taschereau) Mandeville. Born in Ware, MA, he was the son of the late Jean Baptiste Uldric Mandeville and Valerie (Fontaine) Mandeville.
He worked as a tool and die maker for Precision Machining Co. in Cranston, RI retiring in 1986. Robert lived in Woonsocket for most of his life, and then lived in North Fort Myers, FL for 10 years (1994-2004) before moving back to Woonsocket. Bob was a United States Navy veteran who served proudly in WWII. He was a very active man, a past Master Morning Star Lodge #13 Free and Accepted Masons and would have celebrated his sixty year anniversary in the Masons in January of 2016, a past High Priest of Union Chapter #5, a past Thrice Illustrious Master of Woonsocket Council #9, past Commander of Woonsocket Commandry, past Grand High Priest of Grand Chapter for the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, member of What Cheer York Rite College #43, member of Swords of Bunker Hill, Gaspee Order #99, and Member of Roger Williams Priory #48. He was also a food caterer and woodworker for many years and a member of the Greater Rhode Island Baptist Temple.
He is survived by three daughters, Estelle Williams of Pawtucket, Eloise Arel of North Smithfield, and Lisa Johnson of Ocala, FL; Robert was preceded in death by his son Robert Mandeville, Jr; daughter, Elaine J. Morel; three brothers Jean Mandeville, Leonard Mandeville, Paul Mandeville; and sister Arlene Canzano.
His funeral will be held Friday, July 10, 2015, at 10:00 AM at Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery with military honors, North Smithfield. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, from 4- 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Rhode Island Baptist Temple, 671 Greenville Ave. Johnston, RI 02919. www.holtfuneralhome.com
