Robert Monast Obituary

PAWTUCKET - Robert A. Monast, 94, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2022. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Taylor) Monast and fiancé of the late Anna Gailey. Born in New Bedford, MA he was a son of the late Romeo and Louisa Monast.

Robert was a World War II and Korean War U.S. Navy Veteran who served on the U.S.S Comstock and received the World War II Victory Medal, Korean Service Medal and six battle stars. He was a lifetime member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1271, worked at The Arnold's Lonsdale Bakery for many years and was a salesman at MetLife for 45 years.

He is survived by five children, Mary Lou Monast, David Monast and wife Patricia, Carole Johnson and husband Allan, William Monast and wife Jeanne, Robert Monast Jr.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many cousins and friends. He was the brother of the late Marcelle Paine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, May 19th at 9:00am in Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Callings hours will be Wednesday, May 18th from 4:00 - 7:00pm. Visit www.thekeefefuneralhome.com
