Robert O'Donnell Obituary

NORTH ATTLEBORO -Bob O'Donnell of North Attleboro died Sept. 2, 2016.

Bob grew up in West Mansfield, Mass. and was the youngest of 10 children to his parents, John O'Donnell and Ellen Herlihy O'Donnell. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Signe Myette O'Donnell, his son Robert R. O'Donnell and his daughter Deborah O'Donnell Scanlon and her husband John Scanlon; three loving grandchildren: Meghan, Colleen and Brendan Scanlon and his sister Eileen O'Donnell of Englewood, Fla.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1951-1955 and traveled with the Navy to Hawaii, Japan and spent two years serving in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Bob worked for the Attleboro Manufactoring/ Mantrose Hauser Corp in Attleboro for 27 years until joining his wife at O'Donnell Realty in North Attleboro as a very popular realtor. He loved listing and selling real estate and had a special paternal affection towards helping first time home buyers. His kind-hearted humorous and engaging personality made him fast friends with anyone he would meet.

Visitation will be on Thursday Sept. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove St., North Attleboro. A funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 10 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church on Park St. in North Attleboro. Burial with full military honors will be at the National Veterans Cemetery in Bourne.
