Robert H. "Bob" Sargeson

LINCOLN – Robert H. "Bob" Sargeson, 90, of Beverly Drive, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Peg (Cooper) Sargeson.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Walter and Anna (Sabourin) Sargeson, he had lived in Lincoln since 1960.

Mr. Sargeson worked as a sales representative for the former King Musical Instruments, and later for the former Marion Heath Greeting Card Co., before retiring in 2000. He was the top sales representative in the nation for both companies.

He was an avid musician, and played numerous brass instruments. He often donated his time to play "Taps" at the funerals of deceased veterans. He was a Mason, and a member of the R.I. Shriners, where he played in the Shriners Band. He was a member of Candleberry Chapel, Attleboro, where he sang in the choir, and was director of the Hand Bell Choir. He also played music in the Providence Civic Orchestra of Senior Citizens.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a Musician 3rd Class during World War II.

He is survived by three daughters, Susan L. Annon of Lincoln, Donna E. Parmin of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Debra A. Carney of North Providence; one son, Robert P. Sargeson of Sage, Ark.; one sister, Norma Houle of Smithfield; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late William Sargeson and Richard Sargeson.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Candleberry Chapel, Attleboro. His burial, with military honors, will be private in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
