Robert O. "Bob" Sutherland

SOUTH YARMOUTH, MA - Robert "Bob" O. Sutherland, 88, previously of South Yarmouth, MA, Pawtucket and Burrillville, passed away on June 25, 2019 at Overlook Nursing Home, Pascoag.
He was the son of the late Albert "Romeo" and Dorothy M. (Harrington) Sutherland and was married to the late Ann J. (Mousseau) Sutherland for 63 years. He was predeceased by his twin brother Albert Sutherland and his sister Beverly Minisce. He was born and raised in Woonsocket.
A telephone repairman for more than 40 years for New England Telephone to Verizon, Robert also worked as a landscaper. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves in Newport during the Korean War. He previously was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in South Yarmouth and a volunteer at the Oakland/ Mapleville Fire Department. He graduated in 1949 from Mount Saint Charles Academy in Woonsocket.
Robert is survived by his sons: David Sutherland of Pascoag and Danny and his wife Idis Sutherland of Johnston; a daughter, Holly Sutherland and her husband Richard Menard of Attleboro, MA; his grand- children: Kyle and Ryan Sutherland, Natalie Fuller, Avanna and Andre Menard; his sisters: Dorothy Thornton of Schenectady, NY, Eleanor and her husband Doug Sutton of West Lafayette, IN and Trudy Mandeville and her husband Pat Crowshaw of Pascoag and several nieces and nephews.
Services and Military Honors for Bob will be held Monday, July 1, 2019 at 11 AM at the RI Veteran Cemetery, 301 S. County Trail, Exeter. Family and friends are asked to gather at the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave., Pascoag at 9:30 AM to process to the cemetery. Calling will be held Sunday, June 30 from 1 to 3 PM in the funeral home.
