Robert Teevens Obituary
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Harry and Rose (Barrett) Teevens. He was the husband of the late Marion F. (Smith) Teevens; they were married at Slatersville Congregational Church on June 16, 1951, and celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2001.
Mr. Teevens served in the United States Navy during World War II, aboard the U.S.S. H.W. Gilmore. He worked as a percher in the textile industry. He attended the Slatersville Congregational Church, and was a member of its Men's Club for many years. Robert enjoyed woodworking and painting crafts. He loved jazz and big-band music, and did some stints as a radio DJ after his retirement, promoting the music that he loved. He also enjoyed going dancing with his wife, camping with his family, and tinkering with radios and electronic equipment.
He is survived by his four daughters, Linda Terranova (Robert) of Westerly, Donna St. George (Charles Goodman) of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Karin Mathieu (Kevin) of Woonsocket, and Gail Beaulieu (Robert) of Milllville; seven grandchildren, Dr. Jody Terranova, Lisa Ladwig, Amanda Giorno, Daniel St. George, Sarah Mathieu, and Robert and Lindsay Beaulieu, and nine great grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Kenneth St. George.
His funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Slatersville Cemetery, Greene Street, Slatersville.
