Robert E. Townson

PAWTUCKET - Robert E. Townson, 78, of Garden Street, died Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of fifty years of Barbara (Wagner) Townson.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Robert B. and Winifred (Haslam) Townson, he had lived in Pawtucket since 1972.
Mr. Townson worked in Quality Control at the former Engelhard Industries, Plainville, until his retirement in 1986. He was a graduate of Pawtucket East High School.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Tracey Cook of Cumberland; two sons, Robert H. Townson of Block Island, and William R. Townson, of Selina, TX; one sister, Ila Dansereau of North Kingstown; four grandchildren, Graham Townson, Evan Cook, Wm. Thatcher Townson, and Paige Cook; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Elizabeth A. Townson and Susan L. Townson.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015, from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Relatives and friends are invited. His funeral service, and burial in Highland Memorial Park, will be private.
