Samuel L. "Sammy" Hawkes, Jr.

GLOCESTER - Samuel "Sammy" L. Hawkes, Jr., 5, passed away at Boston Children's Hospital Wednesday, March 16, 2022 after a long battle with leukemia. He was the beloved son of Sam and Ashley L. (Hopkins) Hawkes. He was the brother of Charles and Henry Hawkes. He lived his whole life in Glocester but loved going to his tiny house in Maine.

Sammy brought cheer and happiness everywhere he went. His laugh was contagious and his smile lite up a room. He was a true jokester and enjoyed playing tricks on everyone. His favorite colors were purple, red and blue. He loved going to work on the farm with his mom and helping daddy get firewood. He was crafty beyond his years and loved facetiming his family while in the hospital. He loved exploring the outdoors but above all else he loved playing with his brothers.

Besides his parents and brothers, Sammy leaves behind his paternal grandparents Rosemary Hawkes, Tony Hawkes and Maryann Marino, and his maternal grandparents Ken and Robin Hopkins. Sammy was the nephew of KC and Dawn Hopkins, Laura and Rob Cote, Kerry Hopkins, and Kaylyn and Padraic Keane. He was the cousin of Sydney, Kenny, Caleb, Ciaran and Lorcan.
