Therese L. Gamache

WOONSOCKET - Therese L. Gamache, 94, of Woonsocket died peacefully Tuesday evening at The Holiday in Manville. She was the loving wife of the late Paul E. Gamache. They were married in 1942 and shared over 55 years together until his passing in 1997.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was the daughter of the late Mathias and Evelina (Gibault) Thibault. She remained a lifelong resident of the city.
She was employed as a seamstress by the RI Dept. of Corrections for many years.
Therese was an active parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church. She volunteered countless hours at the parish including the annual OLQM Summer Carnival, Bingo, Ladies Sodality and Senior Citizens Club. She was adept at sewing and knitting.
Therese will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother and great- grandmother and for her friendly and outgoing manner.
Therese's family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the caregivers at The Holiday.
She is survived by her daughter Paulette E. Gamache of Woonsocket and two sons Eugene P. Gamache and his wife Irene of North Smithfield and Charles M. Gamache and his wife Michelle of New Hampshire. Her grandchildren Ruben Costa, Cristina Authier, Danielle and Jeffrey Dugas and great-grandchildren Benjamin, Dylan and Nathan. She was the sister of the late Valmore Thibault, Mathias Thibault Jr., Eugene F. Thibault (U.S. Army Air Force who was killed during WWII), Helen Joly, Etoila Thibault, Lydia Decelles, Sr. Albertine Thibault PM, Marie Antoinette Masse, Rose Archambault, Rita Thibault and Pauline Giguere. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 am from the Menard - Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visiting hours are Friday from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Holiday Activities Fund 30 Sayles Hill Rd.
