Thomas Murphy Obituary

PAWTUCKET - Thomas H. "Henry" Murphy III of Pawtucket died on Jan. 28, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Nancy C. (Brule) Murphy. They had been married 55 years.

He was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Thomas H. Murphy II and Martha (Manley) Murphy. He was a United States Army Veteran.

Mr. Murphy was employed at Englehard Industries for many years and a cook in area restaurants.

Besides his loving wife Nancy, He is survived by his children; Michael Murphy of Seekonk; Shawn Murphy and his wife Debra of North Attleboro; Colleen Lin of Pawtucket; Carolann Feragne and her husband John of Pomfret Center, Conn.; and Kyle D. Murphy of Seekonk. He also leaves his two sisters, Nancy Barrett of Lincoln and Melissa DosSantos of Cumberland. He had 12 grandchildren and three great -grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Dennis Murphy and the father of the late Daniel Robert Murphy.

He touched everyone's life with kindness and incredible sense of humor. He loved his family, animals, and nature. He would often head for the beaches during major storms, just to see the power and beauty of nature up close. Sometimes you could find him playing in the snow with his many grand-dogs. He reached out and helped anyone in need. He loved everything about life, family and friends. It is with great sadness we depart.

The funeral service for Thomas Henry Murphy will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. His calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Mr. Murphy's burial will be with full Military Honors in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. T Nancy and the entire Murphy family please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of Your Husband, Father and Grandfather.I have know Tommy for about 11 years and we have been neighbors for the last 5 years. He would always greet me with a smile and we would talk about how Nancy was doing. He always joked with my Daughter as she used to serve him coffee at McDonalds. Tom was a good man and we will miss him at Fogarty Manor.

He was a man who Loved Family, Friends, and all Natures Beauty. He was dad to me. So much more than a father in law. He took me in to the family with love and kindness that was like I was always part of the family. He would talk to me, teach me, and his grandchildren ( Shawn and I's boys Robert, Joseph and Shawn Jr.) things to take notice of in nature and so many other things. I know he did with all his children and grandchildren. For me it meant so much more than I could have ever Explained to him or anyone. He always was joking with a big smile. He was a man that was strong, full of love and life. He Brought Happiness to every place he was. We love you. You are forever in our hearts. We will alway cherish the memories we have with you. Rest In Peace.
