Wallace Wilson Obituary

WOONSOCKET - Wallace Wilson Sr., 82 of Sunnyside Ave. died Friday, February 10, 2017 in Landmark Medical Center with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Mary E. (Garmon) Wilson. Born in Newbury, South Carolina, son of the lateWilliam B. and Jessie (Tribble) Wilson.
Mr. Wilson worked for many years at Whittensville Machine Shop in MA, Fairmount Foundry and also for Friends Foundry prior to retiring. He was a member of St. James Baptist Church, the Tyra Club and also a former member of the NAACP.
He is survived by his eight children, Sheila Wilson Turner of Woonsocket, Carol Wilson Allen of Woonsocket, Constance Wilson of GA, Wallace Wilson Jr. and his wife April of Boston, MA, Victoria Wilson of GA, Kenneth Wilson and his wife Andrea of Woonsocket, Gary Wilson and his wife Diane of CT and Rona Coaxum and her husband Robert of GA. Besides his children he is also survived by his sister, Doris Wilson of Lincoln, RI. 19 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Wallace was also the brother of the late Alan Wilson, Besse Wilson Speaks, and Odessa Allen.
A Service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 7 PM in St. James Baptist Church, 340 South Main St., Woonsocket, RI. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours will be 5-7 PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private. The S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd, Woonsocket, RI is in charge of the arrangements. sdipardomcfh.com
