William Louis "Skip/Bill" Goneau

William Goneau Obituary

BRISTOL - William (Skip/Bill) Louis Goneau, 56, formerly of Bellingham and most recently of Bristol, RI, unexpectedly passed on Dec. 31, 2021. Some of the many devastated include his: wife Melissa; children Ben and Emilie Signore; siblings Michelle and her spouse Steve Antinarelli (Upton, MA) and Randy and his wife Beth Goneau (N. Attleboro, MA); nieces and nephews Nicole and Demi Antinarelli, Zachary Goodman, Max and Lily Goneau. He is predeceased by his father William L. Goneau, Sr. (Lakeville, FL) and mother Jean M. (Van Buskirk) Goneau of Bellingham, MA.

Raised on Rose Avenue in Bellingham, Skip graduated from Mt. St. Charles Academy in 1983, received his BS in Electrical Engineering from ULowell, and MS from Salve Regina in Information Technology. A subject matter expert in his field at Seacorp where he was employed for 28 years, he was also a founding member of the company softball team and Bass Ale Special Tasting and Reconnaisance Detail (BASTARD). He played beach volleyball and ran intermediate distance races until he wore his ankles into submission. He was actively training for a walking marathon prior to his passing. Bill was known for his sense of humor, comradery, interest in history and travel, and generosity with his time. He traveled worldwide, skied in NH and swam with sharks in S. Africa. He lived with gusto and never stopped moving, jiggling his leg even when seated in quiet conversation.

There is no wrong way to remember Bill/Skip. If it helps you to donate to charity then we would choose the Big Brothers and Sisters Association (https://www.bbbs.org/) in honor of his generosity with his time in mentoring young people, and in grateful acknowledgement of how he met, at the age of nine, his Big Brother Hillar Haan.
