William J. Shurick

MILLVILLE - William J. Shurick, 88. of Glendale, RI, passed away May 21, 2015 at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket.
He was the loving husband of 66 years to Pauline (Ducharme) Shurick.
He was born in Millville, Mass., son of the late William & Irene (Lamothe) Shurick.
Bill worked as a truck driver for many years, he was a WWII Army Veteran.
He enjoyed gardening where he got his nickname as the "Tomato Man", he also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, puzzle books, reading and bird watching. He was a soft spoken sweetheart.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, William Shurick Jr. and his wife Maria of No. Smithfield and Nancy Belham and her husband Paul of No. Attleboro, Mass. 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Theresa Ray and a brother Frederick Shurick.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Theresa's Church, Dion Dr., Nasonville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Pascoag. Calling hours will be held prior to the Mass from 9:30-10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Disabled Veteran's Association or a charity of your choice.
