Betty M. Dixon

Elizabeth "Betty" Marie Dixon, age 92, of Rockaway, New Jersey, died on Monday, April 21, 2025 at Merry Heart Nursing Home in Roxbury, New Jersey.
Born in Rockaway, New Jersey as the youngest child to the late Frank and Anna Wach, she was a lifelong Rockaway resident, marrying her high school sweetheart, having 3 children, and a banking career in the town. Betty loved Rockaway and the community it gave her, spending her time as a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rockaway and a member of the Rockaway Seniors club.
One of Betty's greatest sources of pride was her work at Sovereign Bank in Rockaway where over the course of over 30 years she held various capacities, ultimately rising to Branch Manager, prior to retiring. In her free time and during retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her loved ones, with explorations ranging from Alaska, Hawaii and Italy. Notably, she was an avid reader, loved card games and going to the casinos.
She is reunited in Heaven with her cherished husband and high school sweetheart, Donald E. Dixon.
She is survived by her three loving children, Donald Dixon (Diane Suk); Barry Dixon (Rene Komsa); and Linda Dixon-Messina; and two devoted granddaughters, Alicia Messina and Kaitlyn Dixon.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00PM at the Whitham-Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave, Rockaway, NJ 07866. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, 10:30 AM at the funeral home, doors open at 10AM. Interment to follow at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover.
