Elder Charles "Rev" Jackson

State Elder Charles "Rev" Jackson, of Rockford departed this earthly life October 4, 2025. He was born December 14, 1932 in Clayton, Alabama the son of Eddie and Eulacole Jackson. Charles lived in Rockford since 1962 coming from Chicago, IL. He married the former Maggie McClelland September 12, 1963. Charles was employed as a assembler by Chrysler Corporation over 28 years before retiring. He was the former pastor of The House of God, serving 72 years of preaching the word of God before retiring. Charles was Presiding Elder over Michigan, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Canada and Illinois. He attended schools in Alabama. Charles leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife Maggie Jackson; three sons, Charles Jackson, Perry (Terri) Jackson and Timothy (Quanisha) Jackson; five daughters, Cynthia Jackson, Sharon Johnson, Beverly Jackson, Carol Jackson and Charlotte Donaldson; 16 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Johnson and Annette Warren; and brother Eddie Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; and sisters, Ruth Jackson, Catherine Turner, Ana Mae Fryer, Mary King, Molly Hawkin, Cora Lee Palmer and Louise Clayton; brothers , Lamon, William and Clarence Jackson. Services will be held 9:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Central Christian Church 6595 Guilford Road. Visitation will be held 8:00 a.m. until the time of service and Friday October 24, 2025 at Carl E Ponds Funeral Home 200 N. Johnston Ave.4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Entombment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
