Elzada Ferguson Obituary

Elzada A. Ferguson of Rockford departed this earthly life July 31, 2025. She was born September 11, 1933 in McNeil, Arkansas the daughter of Joe Marshall Ferguson and Lucy Ferguson. Elzada lived in Rockford since 1952 coming from McNeil. She was employed as a Caregiver for several families; and a machine operator by Rockford Products. Elzada was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, formerly serving with the kitchen committee, and the choir. She graduated from McNeil Colored High School and attended Arkansas Baptist College and Rockford Career College. Elzada leaves to cherish her memories, several nieces and nephews , great and great great nieces and nephews; sisters in law, Fannie Ferguson and Effie V. Watkins; a host of other relatives and friends including special caregivers her niece, Jaye Hazel Ferguson, Ceyonna Ferguson, and Michael Wilkerson; and god daughter, Toni Gay. She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters Elizabeth F. Ferguson and Jaye H. Ferguson; and five brothers, Cleothas, Damon, Joe, Ledger and Azro Ferguson. Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. Doors will be open from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
