Gary Hemmerling Obituary

Gary Eugene Hemmerling, 74, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025 in his home. He was born on April 30, 1951, in Grand Island, NE, the son of Eugene and Darlene (Bockman) Hemmerling. Gary was a graduate of Beloit Turner High School and later attended Madison Area Tech College. He married Lana Hornbeck on November 29, 1978 in Rockton, IL. Gary was the owner and operator of Hemmerling Standard in Beloit and Janesville. He enjoyed driving around in his 1935 pickup truck and going to various places with it. Gary raced late model cars for many years throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. His grandchildren were very important to him; he looked forward to watching their sporting events and spending time together. Gary was a very sweet and caring man who will be missed dearly. Survivors include his wife, Lana; children, Kari (Ryan) Cullen, Lisa (Tim) Rose, and David (Rocio) Patterson; grandchildren, Michelle Rose, Rocio Patterson-Rivera, Annika Patterson-Rivera, Emma Cullen, and Jack Cullen; brother, Jerry (Roxanne) Hemmerling; sister, Jan (Tim) Trezek; many nieces and nephews. Gary was predeceased by his parents. A Celebration of Life for Gary will be held at a later date.
