Helenna Pavia Obituary
Helenna A. Pavia, 71, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
She was born on July 6, 1954. Helenna married Lawrence Sherman on July 25, 1970 and together they had one son, Larry. She later married Joseph "Joe" Pavia on December 16, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV. He predeceased her on April 17, 2021.
Helenna formerly was a Nurse Assistant. She was a very heartfelt, giving person and always had a place for someone to stay. Helenna was known for being an excellent cook and shared many meals with friends and family over the years. She enjoyed lotto scratch offs, shopping, and spending the holidays with her family. Helenna had an extensive collection of coins and stamps.
Survivors include her sister, Thursa (Luis A. Hernandez) Jones; brother, Ronald Cruz; nieces and nephews, Yolanda (Enrique Esparza) Bonilla, Carlos Bonilla, Curtis Carrithers, John Robert "JR" Carrithers, Robert Carrithers, Yvette Marie Sowka, Joshua Lee Cruz, Amanda Paulette Cruz, Gina Medina, Lisa Medina, Shana Medina, Nicole Montgomery; several great nieces and great nephews; brother-in-law, Dennis "Denny" Palicka; cousins, Mona (Antonio) Lopez, Felix Rango, and Leslie (Jose) Torres; stepson, Joseph "Joe" S. Pavia; like a daughter, Mary Ann Roe; grandchildren, Riley Redieske, Rowyn Redieske, Marley Pavia, and Hendrix Pavia; like a grandmother to: Chad Varney, Malissa Schmalz, Michael (Sylvia) Schmalz, and Mathias Schmalz; Lillian, Chretien, Ivy, Dawn Dado and Bruce Varney who thought of her as a great-grandmother; extended family and friends including Frank and Phil Pavia's family, sister-in-law, Catherine Pavia; nieces and nephews, Frank (Glenda) Pavia, Chad Pavia, Brad Pavia, Mindy (Scott) Udell-Swick, Stacy Ostrum, Jeff (Paula) Martindale, Deanna (Matt) Coburn and Vince Pavia; several great nieces and great nephews.
Helenna was predeceased by her parents; son, Larry Sherman; sisters, Antonia Roldan and Jackie Montgomery; nephew, Jose Medina; cousin, Toni Rango; brothers-in-law, Frank Pavia Sr., and Phillip Pavia.
A Memorial Visitation for Helenna will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI.
