John Bittrick

John (Jack) Bittrick of Roscoe, Illinois, died peacefully at home on Thursday, June 26, 2025. He was born on December 18, 1927, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the son of Rueben and Helen Bittrick. Jack proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later accepted Christ as his personal savior on January 25, 1976. He had a deep love for God and his church, which was the foundation of his life and character. A lifelong resident of the Beloit/Roscoe area, Jack spent his career in the car business, a profession he loved. He was known for his honesty, warmth, and deep knowledge of cars. Jack was an avid outdoorsman who cherished hunting and fishing throughout his life, and in his final days, found great joy in playing cards with friends and family while in hospice care. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Bittrick; their son, Dr. Jon (Christina) Bittrick of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Madelyn and Finn Bittrick of Greenville; sons, Barry (Cathy) and Brian Bittrick; daughter, Jill (Pedro) Torres; daughter-in-law, Karla Bittrick; many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Rueben and Helen Bittrick; his sister, Jean Stahr; and his son, Mark Bittrick.Funeral service for Jack will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2025 in Heritage Baptist Church, 12848 Willowbrook Road, Roscoe, IL, with Pastor Micah Potter officiating. Private family burial will be in Pinnacle Hill Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by the V.F.W. Post #2306. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Monday in the church.
