Lucille Harris

Lucille Harris departed this earthly life August 24, 2025. She was born February 18, 1940 in Coahoma, MS the daughter of Omer Jr. and Marie Francis. Lucille lived in Rockford 57 years coming from Vance Mississippi. She married Vernell Harris Sr. January 18, 1980, he preceded her in death. Lucille was employed as a machine operator by Amerock over 40 years before retiring. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, serving on the kitchen committee and former member of the Senior Choir. Lucille attended schools in Mississippi. Lucille leaves to cherish many loving memories, four sons Roy French, Vernell (Phoebe) Harris Jr; Greg (Dianne) French, Corey (Surita) Harris; five daughters, Darlene Foster, Sherrion French, Lillian Harris, Janice (Daniel) Burks, Carolyn (Maurice) Chandler; 25grandchildren; a host of great grand and great great grandchildren; brother, Omer Francis III; three sisters, Emma Hardy, Marie Hardy and Patricia Sharp; a host of nieces, nephew, cousins other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Vernell Sr; her parents, Omer Jr. and Marie Francis; daughter, Neacie Graham; son, Edward French Jr; brother, Oscar Francis; sisters, Lillian B. Ross and Alma Jean Beasley; and grand daughter Shana Jones. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 6, 2025 at Macedonia Baptist Church 1720 Morgan Street. Burial in Sunset Memorials Gardens. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
