Marianne Cox Obituary

Marianne "Queenie" Cox, 89, formerly of Pecatonica, IL passed on Sunday, March 9th at TLC Living Center after a brief illness. She was born June 15, 1935 in St. Paris, OH the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken and Elizabeth Mitchell. The family moved from St. Paris, OH to Pecatonica, IL. in 1945. Queenie graduated from Pecatonica High School Class of 1953. Queenie married her high school sweetheart Jerry Cox, on October 2, 1954. Queenie worked at the Rockford Clinic til June 1964 when they adopted their son Greg. In 1968 they adopted their daughter Cari. Queenie worked for over 25 years at Topway Foods. She retired in 2001 to Spend time with her Grandchildren, they were her pride & joy. She loved being their Grandma! Queenie & Jerry also enjoyed taking Day Trips to nearby Casinos and spending Friday nights at Ciminos' lounge. They were active in various Card Clubs, especially with their dear friends & neighbors at Parkview Condos in Pecatonica. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to TLC Living Center nursing staff and St. Croix Hospice for their care given to Mom. Survivors include son Greg; daughter Cari (Joe) Ernzen; grandchildren Rachel, Carsen, Caeleb, Kyle and Isaac; great grandchildren Brennen and Bentley. Predeceased by her parents, husband of 60 years, Jerry Cox and infant children Jeffery and Cynthia. Per Queenie's request Cremation Rites to be Accord. Private ceremony will be held. Final resting place to be Pecatonica Cemetery.
