Mary Johnson Obituary

Rochelle Mary Louise Johnson, 88, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, Illinois. Mary was born to Cecil and Aline (Wilson) Rhodes on March 2, 1937 in Ramsey, IL. Mary worked for many years as a salesperson, most recently for the Rochelle Newsleader. Mary had a great sense of humor. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, Alli and Sam. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Dori Golt, on July 14, 2024; two brothers: Harold Rhodes and Noel Rhodes and three sisters: Doris Henderson and Mildred Elliott, and Karen Tucker. Mary is survived by her two sons: Doug (Kelly) Johnson and Kyle Johnson both of Rochelle; son-in-law, Mike Golt of Rochelle; brother, Eugene Rhodes of Sycamore, IL, two grandchildren: Alli (Josh) Crofton and Sam (Ally) Johnson and three step grandchildren: Ryan Messer, Zach Messer, and Brooke Monson. There will be no services. Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
