Nancy Montgomery Obituary

Janesville/Brodhead, WI – Nancy Lea Montgomery, age 87, passed away on May 14, 2025 while at the St. Elizabeth Nursing Home in Janesville, after a brief illness. Nancy was born on November 29, 1937 in Monroe, WI, the daughter of George and Rose (Schneider) Nenneman. Nancy attended Brodhead High School graduating in 1955. She married Wayne Montgomery on October 17, 1959. He preceded her in death in 1977. Nancy worked for over 15 years before her retirement at Swiss Colony in Monroe in the bakery. She enjoyed baking, reading her mystery novels and spending time with her family. Nancy is survived by her 3 sons, David (Darcy) Montgomery, Craig (Amy) Montgomery and Todd (Charlotte) Montgomery; one grandson, Lucas Montgomery and nieces Vicki Krattiger (Brobst), Tammy Nenneman, Cindy Pederson and foster sister Sheila Wagner. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wayne, and siblings Ruth Brobst, Dorothy Nenneman, Virginia Springstead and Robert Nenneman. Cards can be mailed to the DL Newcomer Funeral Home, PO Box 26, Brodhead WI 53520 as the family will have private family services. The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice Care for caring for Nancy during her illness. Cremation rites will be accorded with a private family graveside at the Greenwood Cemetery in Brodhead at a later date.
