Patrick Cairns Obituary

Patrick "Patsy" Cairns, 85, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at St. Mary's Hospital after a sudden illness and scoring his ultimate soccer goal into the Gates of Heaven. He was born on July 22, 1939 in Methil, Fife, Scotland, the son of Bernard and Catherine (O'Donnel) Cairns. Patsy immigrated from Scotland to Boston, MA, ultimately making his home in Beloit, WI. He married Nancy Rudolph on December 29, 1962 and together they had four children. Patsy served as a Merchant Marine for the United Kingdom and traveled the world with his favorite being New Zealand. He was very proud to become a United States citizen in 2005 when he had dual citizenship with the UK. Patsy was formerly employed as a machinist at Barber-Colman. He was a lifelong soccer fan, whether he was playing or watching; he especially enjoyed cheering on the Glasgow Scotland Celtic Football team. Patsy was also a Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan. He loved planting flowers, bird watching, and going for long walks on the Beloit River Front. He loved cruising in his car, a baby blue convertible Chevy Impala. Survivors include the love of his life, Nancy Cairns; children, Kelly Cairns of Middleton, WI, Shana Cairns of Irvine, CA, and Patrick Cairns of Pewaukee, WI; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Audrey, Eman, Chanel, Faith Monet, Darya, and Mary; great-grandchildren, Issac, Chad, Michael, Aurora, Asher, Bruce, and Jada Lyn; sister, Maureen; many nieces and nephews. Patsy was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Terri Cairns; two sisters, Rena and Pearl. A Celebration of Life for Patsy will be held at a later date.
