Shelley Michalski Obituary

Shelley Michalski, 63, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the UW Health University Hospital after succumbing to a brain aneurysm. She was born January 1, 1962 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of James and Donna (Larson) Martin. Shelley graduated from Beloit Memorial High School, Class of 1980. She worked at Shopko while in high school and then after, as a teller at the First National Bank at their many locations. In April of 1983, married Mike Michalski, starting a family years later. Shelley chose to be a stay-at-home mom until 1995; she began working for the Beloit Turner School District at Powers Elementary School. First as a cook and then later finding her perfect position as a paraeducator. The school staff and young kids brought so much happiness to her, she was known throughout the school as Miss Shelley, consuming everyone with joy and love. Shelley retired from the school district in 2024, after 29 years, forming many strong friendships along the way. She enjoyed following the Brewers, her Green Bay Packers, long bike rides and loved to travel, especially the trip to Ireland with a group of very good friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, educator and friend with a laugh that when heard, you instantly knew she was near and bringing joy. She is survived by her husband, Michael; two children, Matthew (Hannah) Michalski of Janesville, WI, and Meghan (her fiancé, Joe Skorpinski) Michalski of Minneapolis, MN; beloved grandchildren, Henry and Kate; brother, Troy (Jodi) Martin of Beloit, WI; nieces and nephews; special friends; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and John Jones. She was predeceased by her parents. Shelley registered as an organ donor; in doing this, she saved and improved the lives of many with these extraordinary gifts. A celebration of life for Shelley will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Rock County Brewery, Janesville, WI. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Shelley's name.
