Glenda Meier Obituary

November 2, 1944 - October 10, 2025

Glenda Sue Meier, lovingly known as Sue, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with ongoing health challenges. Though she left us too soon, her final day was filled with love, laughter, and cherished goodbyes shared with close family and friends. She was 80 years old.

Sue was born on November 2, 1944, to Lillian Ruby and Willard Freeland. Raised in a close-knit family, she was the sister of Carol Louise "Lorac" Meyer and Martha Lee Longest, who preceded her in death, and is survived by her beloved sister, Diana Jean Catt.

On November 25, 1962, Sue married the love of her life, Tommy Lee Meier (Tom). Together, they built a life filled with deep love, strong values, and countless memories. Their marriage was a testament to unwavering devotion and mutual respect.

Sue is survived by her husband Tom; her sons, Gregory Kent Meier and Mark Alan Meier (Alex Urdiales); her treasured grandchildren, Victoria Marie Wellinski (Alan) and Benjamin Thomas Meier (Megan); and her adored great-granddaughter, Madelyn Sue Wellinski - with a second great-grandchild, Austin, expected to arrive later this winter. Sue also held a special place in her heart for her many "fur-grandkids": Kai, Jake, Minnie, and Robbie, who brought her endless joy.

Those who knew Sue knew she had a warmth that made everyone feel welcomed and loved. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to make anyone feel like family. Whether it was her warm smile, and comforting presence, Sue/Mom/Mimi left a mark on every heart she touched. Sue was also a huge sports fan and could tell you about every statistic for each player on her favorite teams: Colts, Fever, Pacers, IU, Purdue, and Notre Dame, etc.

In her final hours, she was surrounded by the love of not just family, but dear friends who had become family over the years, including Cindy Meier, Eileen Huey, plus Debbie and Alan Agee. True to her character, Sue rallied one last time to share laughter, hugs, and heartfelt farewells.

Her life was a beautiful example of resilience, kindness, and unconditional love. While our hearts ache with her absence, we take comfort in knowing that her legacy will live on in the lives she touched and the family she so deeply cherished.

In keeping with Sue's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Instead, a small celebration of life will be held soon - details will be shared with family and friends.

She will be missed beyond words and loved forever.
