Raymond David Dilley

CYPRESS, TEXAS – Raymond David Dilley, 89, of Cypress, Texas, passed away June 1, 2025, at his residence. He was born April 27, 1936, in Bridgeton, Indiana, to the late Raymond Dilley and Carrie Harms Dilley. He retired from Eli Lilly & Company after more than 24 years of service. A lifelong cattle farmer, he continued working in retirement as a bus driver for Turner Coach, where he enjoyed the opportunity to travel. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Edwina Kirchoff Dilley, whom he married on November 3, 2001, in Bridgeton, Indiana; one son, David Dilley of Tampa, Florida; three daughters, Janet (Bob) Rusk of Rockville, Indiana, Linda (Doug) Parke of Mansfield, Indiana, and Lisa (John) Auman of Rock Hill, South Carolina; two step-sons, Curt Jackson of Cypress, Texas, and Brad (Rachel) Jackson of Lexington, Kentucky; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Elaine Jackson Dilley, whom he married on September 3, 1960, and who passed away on December 26, 1993; one granddaughter, Natasha Barton; and four sisters, Frances Rastetter, Maryanne Beeler, Marrietta Dilley, and Gladys Dilley. Raymond proudly served in the United States Army. He was a member of Cypress Bible Church and took great joy in his faith, woodworking, traveling, and spending time with his beloved dog, Lady. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street, Rosedale, Indiana, with the Rev. Perry Mager officiating.
