Robert Kaperak Obituary

Robert â€sBobâ€t Eugene Kaperak, 92, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, wife Minnie Kaperak, and daughter Tracy Miner on September 7, 2025. He was surrounded at home by his loving family. Bob was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 24, 1932. His family moved to Terre Haute in 1933. Bob was a lifelong resident of Terre Haute and graduated from Garfield High School in 1951 where he played varsity football and track. In August 1951 Bob enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and went to boot camp in Cape May, New Jersey then to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Bob completed Electricians Mate School in Groton, Connecticut then returned to San Juan and was stationed on the USCGC Sagebrush, a 180-foot vessel. He was transferred to the 83400 Patrol Coast Guard and spent his last six months in Miami Beach, Florida on traveling maintenance. In 1954 Bob returned to Terre Haute and married the love of his life, Minnie Kaperak, in 1956. He was employed by Public Service Indiana in 1956 where he worked at the Wabash Generating Station until 1994 and retired as a Mechanical Supervisor. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; Peter and Anna (Henzil), his loving wife of 57 years, Minnie L. Kaperak; his daughter, Tracy Miner; and siblings, Patrick Kaperak, Vendele Kaperak, Peter Kaperak, Mike Kaperak, Mary Reynolds, Catherine Martin, and Julia Miller. Bob is survived by his son, Joe Kaperak and wife Martha of Nashville, TN and their two daughters Anna (Kevin) Rivera and Megan Kaperak; his daughter Leslie and husband Eric Ellis of Terre Haute and their sons Jordan, Landon, Carter and daughter Kaylee; Son-in-law Doug Miner; grandchildren: Jennifer (Andrew) Casterline of Carmel and their three daughters, Grace, Kaitlyn, and Lauren; Ashley Miner of Milford, Iowa and her son Xavier and daughter Amaya; Lindsay (Zach) Bowman of Pittsboro and their three sons Parker, Harrison and Beau; and Sarah Miner of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Sisters-in-law Shirley Kaperak and Sylvia Mail. Bob had a quick wit, was a sports fan and especially enjoyed football and basketball. He loved traveling and spending time with his family who all adored him. He was a member of Maryland Community Church since 1974. Visitation will be on Friday, September 12, 2025 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Service will begin at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Vince McFarland will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tracy’s Heart at tracysheartfoundation.com, or to Maryland Community Church, 4700 State Road 46, Terre Haute, IN. So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing Leslie. My Dad worked with him @ Wabash River Station & he passed away in January of this year. I will be praying for you & the rest of your family.
