Sharon Sue Chord

Sharon Sue (Miley) Chord, age 84, of Spencer, Indiana passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Hearthstone Health Legacy Campus in Bloomington, Indiana. She was born in Petersburg, Indiana on April 2, 1941 to Carl and Lucy May (White) Miley. Sharon married Arthur Chord in 1977 and he preceded her in death in 1990. She retired from Cummins News in Bloomington after 36 years of employment. Sharon enjoyed working at IU ballgames and going to auctions with her long time companion Lester Hendricks. She also enjoyed sewing and feeding her birds. Sharon attended the Spencer Christian Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Sharon is survived by her brother, Ted Miley and sister, Shirley English; and good friends Bobby, Hope, Lindsey, and Trent Whaley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Jack Miley; sisters,Judy Messmer and Helen Tolbert; and long time companion Lester Hendricks. Funeral services for Sharon will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 N. Montgomery Street, Spencer, IN 47460. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 am until time of the service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Chambersville Cemetery.
