Sue Cooper Obituary

ROCKVILLE-Sue Ann Cooper, 86, of Rockville, Indiana passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, in her residence. She was born December 11, 1938, in Brazil, Indiana to the late Austin Webster and Marjorie Overbeck Webster Ferguson. Her husband of 63 years, Charles Allen Cooper whom she married July 7, 1957, preceded her in death October 2, 2020. Survivors include, one son, Jeff (Brenda) Cooper; son-in-law, Keith Mallett; sister, Christy (Myron) Pflueger; sister-in-law, Janice Webster; grandchildren, Lindsay Berry, Ashley (Matt) Vauters, Brandon (Morgan) Cooper and Jack Brown; great-grandchildren, Landon Berry, Nora and Ruby Vauters and Colby Cooper; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Brown Mallett; grandson, Preston Parish; son-in-law, Barr Brown; stepfather, Wally Ferguson; brothers, George and Jerry Webster. She was a graduate of Brazil High School. She served two terms as the Matron for the Parke County Jail while her husband was Parke County Sheriff. She was also employed by A & M Cleaners in Rockville and Overpeck Gas Company in Marshall. She was a member of Beta Phi Chapter Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, Rockville Women's club and the Garden club. Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, August 20, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with Pastor Steven Blaydes, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday at Gooch Funeral Home.
