William Lane Obituary

ROSEDALE-William S. "Bill" Lane, 76 of Rosedale, Indiana passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025, at home with loved ones at his side. He was a lifelong farmer. He raised corn, soybeans, wheat, strawberries and operated Lane's Potato Farm. He was born May 6, 1949, in Clinton, Indiana to the late Lowell Lane and Frances Philabaum Lane. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Jan Wagner Lane whom he married on September 6, 1980, in Sumner, Illinois. Also surviving, son, David R. (Amanda) Lane of Rosedale; daughter, Amy (Brad Scully) Lane of Rosedale; sister, Janet Armstrong of Concord, North Carolina; grandchildren, Audrey and Avery Lane. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Autumn Joy Lane on July 23, 2024 and brother-in-law Harry Ray Armstrong. He was a 1967 graduate of Rosedale High School and attended Ivy Tech Community College. He was a member of the Rosedale United Methodist Church. He enjoyed watching and attending sprint car races and watching old westerns on television. Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 20, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street, Rosedale with Ashlee Vitz officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation is from 12 noon until 2:00 pm on Wednesday. Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley in his memory. Online condolences may be shared at www.goochfuneralhome.com.
